Wednesday morning I tried to go and pay rent. My landlord was not in his office.
Thursday morning, same thing.
Friday morning came and I was set on catching him, so as I got dressed and went to reach for the wad of cash I had left on my bedroom table from the day before, it was not there. I definitely felt panicked in that moment! It was a lot of money.
As I was looking all around my bedroom, I had a sudden thought--Where is my wallet? As I went to the place where I thought it should be, it was not there. It was not anywhere.
So...2 missing items: wad of cash and a wallet with everything in it.
After much looking, going insane, and backtracking, we decided to talk to my landlord. He said he knew of nothing out of the ordinary. From there we decided to make a police report since there is a crime wave going on in this city.
I went to the police station, which was interesting all by itself, and told them my story. They of course thought I was crazy since nothing else in my house was broken. Then they asked about my key and lock....and proceeded to scold me after they learned that I had not locked BOTH of my locks. Apparently the lock I usually lock, is the cheap one that thieves are opening lately. So, we changed it for a better one today and I will use both locks from now on. I canceled my credit cards.
I'm still trying to make sense of what happened because it's so unclear and strange.
Did I lose 2 separate items somehow or did someone take it from me? In both of those questions, HOW??

I'm so sorry that has happened to you. So were the items stolen while you were sleeping or when you were gone? I'm just glad that you are fine. Do you need $$$$?
I hope and pray that you somehow put those items in a safe place and you will be guided there. I pray that you will somehow know what happened or your mind will be at peace with not knowing. Do you remember the time Icouldn't find my check book and then found it in the pots and pans shelf?
Hmmm. Weird story. All I have to say is it wasn't me!!!!
I wonder where your wallet went? I hope you find it soon. I know all too well the hassle of getting all of your ducks back in a row after getting something stolen.
My car has now been broken into twice! I keep wondering why a red dodge has such a big target on it. I would understand if it was a Lexus or something, but it is just a regular car!
Agh! Jaclyn- I'm so sorry about this! You sounded so calm as I read this...I would have used a lot more explanation points, no doubt. I'm proud of you. Be safe!
