Times have changed...

I'm constantly making mental lists of the differences between my life in America and in Armenia. Some of those differences have to do with being in a different location and different culture, and some of the changes I can't quite figure out. If you know me well, you know that I've been a picky eater most of my life. My parents can attest to that! However, my eating habits are changing all the time.
Here are some eating habits I've picked up:
Instant oatmeal is a common breakfast food of mine here. I pretty much never ate oatmeal in America. What's up with that!?
I've eaten a sandwich (gasp!) and many other things that are sandwich-like.
I've eaten McDonald's hamburgers, with the bun, with everything on it, that came all the way from Georgia.

And....drumroll, please.....
Last night I ate fish and crawfish!
Please, Dad, don't pass out!

I was invited to the home of some dear friends, Anush and Gorgan. It was kind of a celebration meal since the big project is over. So, I ate fish and it was actually very tasty! Since I had never eaten crawfish before, I had to be taught how to pull it apart and get the meat. I must admit that it was a lot of work for just a little meat, but it wasn't bad either! I'm not sure if my tastebuds have changed or these things are just better here. Either way, I'm glad that I enjoy more and more things as times goes on.

In other news, today was annoying. Plans for the day fell through after I had waited on people and I was left not knowing what to do to be productive with the rest of my day. I finally walked to the building and I went prayer walking with my friend Arax. We went to the hospital that's nearby and just walked around and prayed for people silently. I prayed that God would bring people physical healing, but most of all that he would open their eyes and hearts spiritually. It's very easy for me to get frustrated when things don't go according to plan, or there is no plan, or I simply don't know where I fit into the plan. Going to the hospital, which is a place of pain, uncertainitly, and difficulty was good for me today.

Fish, sandwich-like foods, oatmeal... you're a big girl now! Good for you! :P

Prayer walking is so great. I wish I took time to do it more often.

Can't believe some of those eating changes!! Oh, I think oatmeal is good with butter, brown sugar, and raisins. Where do they get the crawfish? Sometimes it's difficult to be content in the place/situation that we find ourselves and when others have disappointed us. Prayer walking was certainly a great way to use your time.
