It's been too long since my last update! I'm not sure where the time has gone, but it has indeed flown by!
We just had the official grand opening of the Ministry and Training Center on Wednesday. So, in typical Armenian fashion, we were working to get the building ready up until the VERY last minute! It was NUTS! I put on my dress about 40 minutes before the program was about to start because I was cleaning. I had never seen so much dirt and dust in my life! I did a little bit too much lifting one day when we were working on the grounds and I injured my shoulder slightly. It's feeling much better now thanks to some rest, Ibuprofen, and heat. (I put rice in a big sock and stuck it in the microwave for a minute.....it does the trick!)
I put on my kindergarten thinking cap recently as I was trying to think up a new lesson idea for my Beginner's English class. We had already learned about body parts a while ago, but we never really talked about our 5 senses vocabulary and sentence structures. So, we had a normal lesson learning those things and the next lesson we had some FUN! I went to the market and bought several fresh items and prepared them on separate plates. During class time, I blindfolded two students at a time and they class described the look, feel, and smell of the items. Then the blindfolded students had the opportunity to do the same...and then taste the items! They sure got a surprise when they tasted a hot pepper and onion!
More opportunities to meet people are happening. I'm going to meet one on one with a lady who desperately wants to learn English. It's great to teach people who have such motivation. Hopefully I will be able to teach her about some other things too! My friend, Arax, introduced me to some of her former soccer teammates. One of them seems to be open to spiritual things and she also knows some English. Hopefully she can come to class sometime and get more comfortable with me.
The weather here is a little cooler than what I would consider normal May weather. I've been wearing a light jacket during parts of the day this week.
Language is coming little by little. There are things I remember "learning" in my formal lessons, but they're just now starting to make sense! It's always fun to say a word that no one knows I know!

Hey, I wonder where you got just some of those preschool/kindergarten ideas? You really exhibited that last summer at Tulakogee, too. Glad you are meeting more and more people through others -- kind of like facebook, I guess. What all did you buy from the market? How's the apartment and decorating it? Jarrett and Shannon are in Rome today. Daddy and I will give you some tips (whether you want them or not) for your upcoming trip (1. Plaka)
