Introductions...

There are a lot of things that have not written or scrap booked about, so I want to make sure and document them in some small way. I'm going to introduce you to a few special people from my life in Armenia. Each one is very special. Today I will introduce you to three friends.

I met Anush the first time I traveled to Armenia. After I moved there, I learned just how amazing she is. She felt kinda like an aunt to me. I saw Anush every single day. She can sew, cook, and plan things like a pro! One of the most amazing things she does is calculate exactly how much food/drink is needed for a party or event. AND she gets great deals. Anush is the camp director and she really puts her heart into it. She is really passionate about youth. Her and her husband, Gorgan invited me to their home on a couple of occasions. Her husband cooks DELICIOUS fish and crawfish. One summer, I helped her plan several summer events for youth. I really appreciated how she spoke slowly and really listened to me with patience. Anush and another friend also helped me shop for dishes, cookware, and bedding when I moved into my apartment.

I met Mariam (on the left) when I taught an English course at the nearby college in 2nd Masiv. A lot of students in that class were hard to manage and did not take an interest in learning or even getting to know me, but Mariam did. She waited for me to gather my things after we finished class and walked with me to the bus stop. During our walk we talked about many things, mostly our families. We had an instant connection. I loved the way that she wore her hair up on top of her head like American girls do. Mariam came to other events that I invited her to and she met some of my other friends. She heard the truth, but I'm not sure if ever responded. I miss her cautious yet friendly personality.

Artur is just like a brother. I saw him everyday, too. I know that if I ever needed anything, Artur would be there to help. We went to the village every week. We argued and disagreed. We got lost in the rain. He put numerous viruses on my computer. He was always ready to help anybody with anything, even if he had not slept. Everyone gives him a hard time, but no one can live with out him. He sincerely loves to serve.
