Ok, so after the wonderful meetings, I officially went on vacation!
I traveled with some other J-girls from my company and we hit Athens for 2 days. We went the hostel route to save money and I'm glad we did. They really weren't bad at all.
One of the first things we did in Athens as a group after finding our first hostel was head to the National Archaeological Museum. The highlight of the museum was seeing the Mask of Agamemnon firsthand. The museum was full of sculpture and artifacts that really made me curious about times long ago. My main recurring thought centered on how much art they made during that time and I also wondered how God was revealing himself to those people during the time between Malachi and Matthew. Since we were tired and famished, we decided to find some dinner.
We landed at Hard Rock Cafe and enjoyed some good ol American cuisine. I absolutely COULDN'T decide between a hamburger or the nachos, so thankfully, Mary and I ordered both and split them.
What's the next logical thing to do after Hard Rock?
Starbucks.

Did you leave the buns on the burger? ;)
Sounds like Rick Steves... staying in the hostel. You had a real arts education didn't you? Need to tell the old art teacher all about it.
So glad you enjoyed your trip and were energized by all you saw and learned. We browsed all of your pictures and are soo looking forward to going to see Laura in September.
