Fall is in the air. It's been a little cool this week, especially in the mornings. However, the morning also brought beautiful, clear skies that helped me see snow-capped mountains. Thankfully, it hasn't been too cold yet. I wore a coat this week in the village, but I've stuck to long sleeves and jackets here in the city.
Speaking of Fall.....I excitedly told my beginner English students last week (on the 22nd) that it was the first day of Fall! They looked at me completely bewildered and
they said: "What are you talking about? The first day of Fall is September 1st!"
I said: Who says?!!?
They said: What?
I said: Who says that?! Today is the first day of Fall because Science says so!
At that point I gave up and realized this was some sort of cultural wall I was going up against. Maybe I will explain the equinox concept more thoroughly later.
I got to play "Nanny" again this week while my supervisors were out of town. I've pretty much got the routine down since I've done this gig a few times before. Waking them up, fixing breakfast, packing lunches for school, checking off chores......definitely makes me feel....well, motherly. The kids were good and I was glad to help out.
Had some good conversations with English students and people in the village this week. Thankfully, I had 4 unbelieving students in my intermediate/advanced class today. That class tends to be filled with "our" people, so I was really happy about that.
I said before that I was working on my grammar and vocab to share the Good News. My dear friend, Arax is such a gem. She practiced with me all the way to the village Wednesday and set me up to be able to share what I had practiced. Did I make mistakes? Of course! But I was happy to have that opportunity.

I'm thankful for Araxx and how she has helped you. So you almost felt motherly ?! how sweet! Sounds like it's time to get winter clothes to you fast. What do you need?
