So much work to do....

My dear friend Arax lost her grandpa last week. He was in his early 70's, but he hadn't spoken in over a year. When Arax and her mother tried to talk to him about Jesus, he motioned for them to be quiet and stop talking. Arax's father died when she was a child. Her grandpa is now dead. Her teenage brother is sickly and weak. Yet her and her mother continue to walk by faith. Where is their reward?
"...All these people were still living by faith when they died. They did not receive the things promised; they only saw them and welcomed them from a distance. And they admitted that they were aliens and strangers on earth. People who say such things show that they are looking for a country of their own. If they had been thinking of the country they had left, they would have had opportunity to return. Instead, they were longing for a better country—a heavenly one. Therefore God is not ashamed to be called their God, for he has prepared a city for them." Hebrews 11:13-16

The story of my friend contrasts so much with the following stories....

Lusine died on Sunday. 40 years old. She was the college director's secretary. (The college where our group met for years). She heard the truth, and at one point said that she had received it. Some time later, after a few drinks, she seemed to refute everything. Her boss is without his "right hand" and also living without hope. So many teachers and students there who need Him.

A grandma that is a part of our group in the village cries every time she talks about her son, who died several months ago. My friend and I visited her grandson and daughter in law this week. They seemed to look right through us as we spoke, perhaps too numb to feel anything spiritual.

A woman in my English class mourned the death of a young relative. A 19 year old boy went to sleep and didn't wake up.

Talked to a 20 something student this week about following. She's so insecure she can't imagine giving everything to Him. I asked her, "If you were sick and dying and I had the medicine that would cure you, would you take it or would you think about others' opinions?" She said, "I would consider what they thought."

Oh God, move.

What sad and TRUE stories. You ARE making a difference ... even when you probably feel like shaking someone. "Let you light so shine......"
I know you will somehow be a blessing to the grieving family members and to the college director. I know you will continue to be a blessing to Arax. I am proud of you.
