Lately....

I woke up this morning to the pitter patter of rain and......continued sleeping!

Thursday and Friday were great days because we had our monthly outreach events for women. On Thursday evening, the tateeks come (old ladies) and on Friday the younger women come. Thursday was good, but Friday was GREAT! Thanks to one of our volunteers from the Arkansas team last week, we had a great event. The theme centered on beauty and Women's Day (a holiday they celebrate here on March 8th). We had stations set up where the ladies could get a quick manicure, face mask, hand massage, foot soak, and of course there was coffee, tea, and cakes as they mingled and visited the stations. The young women loved it! To get the mood a little more serious, we gathered everyone back and Gretchen and I sang a duet together. Next, it was time for the lesson from the Word! True beauty flows from the heart, true beauty comes when we look to God, and true beauty does not fade. The women were so happy to be there....they are hungry.

I'm still settling into my apartment---I've got some more shopping to do and I need to take some of the owner's funky pictures off the wall! It's really cool and also strange to move into a furnished apartment. The owner left random junk here.....like a million jars. Weird!

A millions jars could turn into beautiful junk. Just think of the possibilities! (only a preschool teacher wouldl say that). Let me know if you need something for your apartment. Yes, your own pics and touches make it truly yours. What a wonderful day of beauty in every way! Absolutely, every woman loves to be pampered so that event will never grow Trust me on this one.Was it for old or young women? Who decides which group they are in ? I'm so glad to know that you sang. I miss hearing your voice! What did you and Gretchen sing?

Although it's not necessarily a furnished house, I"m so thankful for all the random stuff that my landlady left for me. It's nice to not have to buy everything when you move into a new place.

A woman fully resting & content in her savior's grace and love is one of the most beautiful things on this planet. It's good that you are sharing that with the women you come in contact with.

I was so glad to hear that you are singing. I truly think that is one of your many gifts. USE IT!!!! I think you should decorate your apartment with your photgraphy. Maybe you already have. Miss you and love you. The old art teacher. P.S. We put the boat in the water last Sunday and then it blew 40 mph and snowed. Spring will come?
