New things every day…..

What is a typical day?
I’m learning that there is no such thing! Monday I went with Gretchen and Chris to run errands. First we went to work on visa stuff. They needed to renew theirs and wanted to check on extending mine. The people in these offices are not exactly helpful. We found out that we had to get our passports translated. So, we had to go to yet another unhelpful office. Humorously, they had a lot of trouble with my middle and last name since they have double letters (JeSSica and TuBB). It just doesn’t make sense to them, so that was kinda funny. We went and got some lunch at Mr. Toaster where I ate a SANDWICH (some of you will know what a huge deal this was for me! ) The rest of the day was spent running more errands and looking for furniture for the new building (where I’m currently living). Furniture is so expensive and the quality is not even that great. It’s hard to find something cute and reasonably priced.

My Tuesday was also interesting. I had my first language lesson with a private tutor. She has helped other Americans (even one working for my Company) and they highly recommended her. So, Pstr Garik called a taxi for me and then I called my teacher, Jane, who told the taxi driver where she lives. The taxi ride was about 15 minutes of bumpy, windy roads full of pot-holes. After finally finding her house, I went inside and got started. Our first lesson was focused on the alphabet, cardinal and ordinal numbers, pronouns, and even conjugating some verbs. This was a lot for the first lesson! But, she said I was doing very well and felt like I was going to learn it. Yay! Now, it’s time to STUDY STUDY STUDY! :)

After returning from my first lesson, I was hungry, so I ventured out alone to buy some lamb-a-jo . I was able to communicate somehow with the lady and got the food ordered. I also went to a shopping center nearby and bought a new purse. I probably paid too much for the poor quality, but it will do! I needed something smaller.

Well, that’s a recap of some of my more recent adventures!

Keep remembering my language study, my culture acquisition, and my patience in all things. Also, remember baby Narek and his family. I’m learning a lot about prayer and I’m encouraged by the faith of those around me to believe God for miracles.
I miss my loved ones and I miss a lot of things about home, but I’m confident that the Father will continue to help me with this.

Your various ventures AND a taxi ride sound exciting especially for a gal who has just entered a whole new world. What is lamb a jo? Good luck on the language classes. YOU CAN DO IT!!! Love, MOM

Wow, so many adventures! Isn't it fun how governmental offices are so difficult to work with. Whether you're in America or wherever. I'm always particularly scared of the DMV offices here stateside.

Keep up the good work on the language. You'll have it in no time!!

Holy cow! You had a sandwich! I am amazed and very proud of you! Way to go on the language lesson. I imagine it would be very encouraging to start well. I'm thinking often of you! :)
