Let the Journey Begin

Hello friends!

I am going to attempt to blog for the next 2 years. I have blogged in the past and it is always a very "therapeutic" experience for me. This blog will document some of my experiences as well as some honest thoughts and feelings. This will undoubtedly be an emotional time of transition for me, so bear with that! Yes, those of us called to the field are real people. We sin, we do stupid things, and are not superheroes.

To catch you up, I am at the International Learning Center in Rockville, Virginia. I spend my days in "class" learning about ch.planting strategies, how to train others, language acquisition, and much more. The facilities here are pretty amazing. I live in a "quad" with 3 other Journeygirls and 2 families. It's kinda like college life. Class, communal living, and cafeteria food! :) Today was exciting because I have had some confusion about my visa, but today the consulate e-mailed me and I am approved.

I am enjoying my time here. I'm trying to stay focused on being here and getting the most out of my training. I am excited to get on the field. I'm also excited to be at home for 2 weeks in October. I'm planning some fun things to do with family and friends.

My dear partners....my hope is that you not only remember and pray for me, but that you gain a huge heart for my people group and pray for them just as much (if not more!) as you pray for me.
