Things I like about my job this week.....

1. I feel like God is speaking and moving in the hearts of my students. :) I've had a couple of random conversations with them this week that give me hope.......hope that they are asking questions and looking for answers.


2. I just loved this conversation today.

Student: Um, Teacher.....Could I ask you a question?

Me: Sure.

Student: It's a personal question. Can I ask you?

Me. Ok......

Student: Are you rich?

(At this point I am trying not to crack up...)

I mean, you have perfect clothes. Everyday you wear perfect fashion with new clothes and different earrings. So, we were wondering if you are rich. Maybe you don't need this job and just like to work here.

Me: (STILL trying not to crack up). Oh, wow. No. I'm not really rich. Girls are just tricky. Sometimes I mix different clothes to make new outfits. I've had some of my clothes for a while. Most of my earrings were given to me. Yeah, girls are just tricky like that. I need this job. I'm not rich, and neither is my family. So, I'll take that as a compliment!

3. We are going to have a lamb roast this weekend as a student activity. That's right....slaughter and roast. I'll let you know how gross it was! I'm actually looking forward to hanging out with the students outside of class. I'll be glad to talk about something besides noun quantifiers or paragraph structure.

4. Did I mention I get to be with a UPG [unreachedpeoplegroup] everyday? Once again, I just wish we talked less about grammar and more about important things.....
