Crazy Lady #2

Some of you may remember my earlier posts about "Crazy Lady" and the way God spoke to me through her.

I'd like to introduce you to Crazy Lady #2. She has been coming to English for quite a while. She is 66 and has wild gray hair that is sometimes takes on an interesting purple tint after a bad dye job. She has excellent English grammar and zero social manners. She says ridiculous things, embarrassing things, and even vulgar things in English. You can't reason with her and you can barely shut her up. We've had a few talks about "behaving" during class. Her theology is pretty wacky. She is poor and wears the same thing almost every time she comes to class.

Today I received a letter from her. It was not addressed to me, but rather my supervisor. She outlined very beautifully how much she wants me to stay here and not go back to America in August. You see, for the past month or so, at the start of every lesson, she dialogues with me about my leaving and how much she wants me to stay. I simply told her my contract is up and I need to go back home.

So, in this letter she is begging whoever it may concern to let me stay another term. I wish you could read it, because it's one of the sweetest, most wonderful things I've ever read.

I really don't know what to say. Oh, the fingerprints we leave on each other's lives....

Sometimes we never realize the impact we have on someone until God calls us elsewhere. I hope that you can continue to love on her during your remaining time there.

Wow" The outside really often does not tell what is on the inside. Just as that gave you a new perspective of her may we all notice people in our lives a little better .
If I could I'd send her some clothes and hair coloring kits, but of course I know you accept her as she is. Maybe some others are thinking the same thing that she is.

I know a little about how you feel. When I taught school I had to give up young people I really liked every year. At first I thought that there would never be another group of students like them. I still think about some of them today. They will always be a part of me. giving up relationships is hard. However there is a plan. The old art teacher
