It's been a while since I posted....so here are some random things:
1. I bought new boots. Yes, I had to break down and pay the big bucks for a pair of good boots. The ones I brought with me started tearing up after only about 2 1/2 months! Walking on these city streets is rough on shoes.
2. Just when I start to have fun, it's time to stop! Yes, I only have 3 more language lessons (unless I can beg for more $$$ from the Board) and it's just now starting to be enjoyable. I've learned my letters, so I can read and write now. My teacher has loosened up and we're beginning to talk briefly about spiritual things. I stayed after my lesson on Tuesday and chatted (in English) with her and her daughter, who is my age. They told me that they really liked me and to come and visit, even after my lessons have stopped.
3. The snow on the sidewalks has been replaced with thick ice. Walking sometimes turns into ice-skating. This is slightly scary and slightly fun.
4. 3 words. I LOVE THERMALS.
5. My friend, Arax, doesn't know English, but she is teaching me to share the Good News in this language. She's an absolute gem.
6. I miss Chinese buffets. White Styrofoam boxes filled with Chinese goodness....mmmmm. Ok, ok, I also miss Wal-Mart, Target, Arby's, Pizza Hut, good Mexican food, and Hobby Lobby.
7. There is something here known as Mac Coffee. It's little packages of instant coffee that also include sugar and creamer. How convenient! (this is probably one of the only things that is more convenient) :)
8. I'm making it a goal to prayer walk when I don't know what else to do.
9. I'm also making it a goal to learn John 3:16 in Armenian.
10. I learned about an underground walk-way nearby. Why didn't someone tell me sooner?!!?! This underground walk-way will enormously reduce my chances of dying...literally! On one side of the busy intersection you walk down some steps, basically walking under that street, and then you go up another set of steps and come out on the other side of that street.

I like your response to the ice. I'm the same way. It's slightly scary, but it's slightly fun.
If I could instant message you an order from Panda Express, I would. I'm suprised that there isn't any Chinese food places there. I mean, you're closer to China than we are here in the states.
Underground walkway? That sounds cool. I guess that would mean less ice and coldness?
The underground walk way sounds neat. Didn't you go through one in Atlanta? Although, I'm sure it's a bit different. Looks like I need to mail you something from a Chinese restaurnt plus Arby's and Senor Salsa's..... also, from Hobby Lobby and even Walmart. That should be easy. Do you want more thermals since you love them now? Jarrett and Shannon got some net things to wear over their shoes/boots when it is icy. I enjoyed reading the story in the mnessenger. Tell me what to send you for Valentine's Day to make your life easier and more fun.
I love keeping up with you and other of Erin's friends as you acclimate to your new places. Where Erin lives, the underground walkways have malls - pretty cool. Be careful on the ice. I fell on our last day there. Thankfully, my down coat absorbed much of the fall. So glad you got some new boots. I keep telling Mary Ann it's way past time . . . Blessings
Hmmm... underground walkway sounds neat! Miss you!
